Temporary change in FBA policy due to COVID-19
***Update***
While Amazon has freed up most ASINs to send in as FBA, they are limiting the quantity of units that can be shipped and have stated that the overall restriction will remain in place until further notice. They have been updating the article linked below, so we recommend checking there for the most up to date information:

In response to the effects of COVID-19, Amazon released a new temporary change in FBA policy that could affect many of our users. New shipments going to the fulfillment centers are only allowed to contain the below items:
▪ | Baby Products |
▪ | Health & Household |
▪ | Beauty & Personal Care (including personal care appliances) |
▪ | Grocery |
▪ | Industrial & Scientific |
▪ | Pet Supplies |
Amazon has suspended shipment of products in other categories until April 5th, 2020. Shipments created with these other products before March 17, 2020 will still be received at fulfillment centers without consequence. Items currently in the fulfillment centers have not been affected. To read the full change, please see the below Seller Central article:

What can I expect to see in my InventoryLab account? |
If you attempt to add an item to an FBA batch or import a buy list with an item that is not in the above categories, you will receive an error message from Amazon stating the item is excluded from fulfillment. If you are seeing an error message for items in the above categories, per the above article, the item may not be prioritized by Amazon at the moment. Additionally, if you have items in batches, and have not yet created the shipments, it is recommended to start a new batch to avoid accidentally sending in unapproved items. For shipments already created in InventoryLab prior to March 17, 2020, box contents should continue to go through. |
What other options do I have? |
Currently, items in other categories are being allowed for merchant fulfillment if you have the capability of doing so. We allow you to create merchant-fulfilled batches within InventoryLab that immediately post the items available for sale on Amazon.com upon completion. You can use the new Profitability graph in our Scout tool to determine your change in Net Profit by fulfilling your items as merchant-fulfilled. |

While we highly recommend keeping existing MSKUs that have already sold FBA products as FBA and creating new listings for MFN, if you have recent MSKUs that you’d want to convert to MFN, you can follow the instructions in the below article: Converting MSKUs between fulfillment channels Note: If you are planning to replenish existing FBA MSKUs in an MFN batch, you’ll need to take the above conversion step first.
If you'd like to prep future FBA shipments, you can create buy lists for items. With this method, you can import the buy lists into InventoryLab once the restriction has been lifted to quickly print labels in bulk and create FBA shipments. If you include your cost/unit, purchase date and supplier information in the file, all that info will be imported along with the items in the buy list, too.
