what is Total Buy Cost
On inventory what does Total Buy Cost represent?
-
Hi Virgil! Your Total Buy Cost is is something that InventoryLab calculates for you based on the qty of the item and the buy cost recorded for it.
So for example, let's say you have at qty of 2 of an ASIN with a buy cost of $30. That would make the Total Buy Cost for that ASIN $60.
I hope that helps! If things are looking askew in your account, please open a support ticket and we'll be happy to take a look for you. :)

Hi there, Daun! Great question. Do you mean the Cost/Unit figure saved on the Inventory pages? If so, that is the price you will enter as what you deem to be the price you paid per unit of the items you've listed for sale and/or shipped to a fulfillment center.
Typically, we recommend putting in the base price per unit of the items, so the literal cost per unit, rather than adding in further costs such as fees or shipping as that would inflate your accounting figures on any pages where the cost/unit is captured as an expense or credit. You don't need to factor in anything that Amazon transmits to us automatically, a list of which can be found here: https://support.inventorylab.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000358113-What-does-InventoryLab-track-automatically-and-when
All of that information included in the link above will be data that Amazon transmits to us automatically, so you don't have to account for it manually anywhere.
Some sellers may choose to include prep fees into their buy costs, such as if a prep center works with you and charges additional per unit fees, but that is up to each seller to decide if that is right for them. Please note that that same buy cost will be applied to each reconciled transaction for the MSKU, so choose accordingly.
I hope that helps answer your question! If you need further assistance with this, please feel free to reach out at support@inventorylab.com with more info.
