Accurately Account for Small & Light fees

    Hi there, Mark!

    The long answer is: The reason we don't have Small & Light fees in Scout/Scoutify is because we used to be at the mercy of Amazon's MWS, also known as Amazon Marketplace Web Services, which is how we communicate and exchange information with Amazon. MWS did not have a great or accurate way for us to get small & light fee estimates that would work with the way our system provides fee calculations.

    The MWS API is in the process of being retired by Amazon and we are now moving to the Selling partner API. This API does allow us to access small & light fee eligibility and information. We do intend to include this enhancement and our product team is currently determining where the work fits within our roadmap.

    I'm also interested in more insight into small & light. Maybe even listing small items as this by default, if that makes sense.

    Very surprised this isn't a feature I would like to see some option put in for small and light as well when building a shipment

    It would be nice to have an explanation as to why this can’t be implemented other than we have sent this to our developers. This post started over 5 years ago and still nothing. I think others will agree that this is badly needed and well overdue. Thanks for your time

    Hi there, Mark and Alan! Thanks for your feedback.

    The reason why we have not been able to display Small & Light fees in the past is because third party applications did not have access to that information via Amazon's MWS API. However, as of 2023, Amazon has implemented their new Selling Partner API which does include access to Small & Light fee information! Because of this recent change, our development team is now able to look into the ability to add this as a feature in the future.

    I do apologize that this has not been available in the past, as InventoryLab was at the mercy of the data Amazon transmits to us via their API, and S&L fee information was not part of that.

    We recognize that many sellers have been requesting the ability to see S&L fees when scouting, and we are glad we're now able to add this to our roadmap for future enhancement.
