Suggestion: Ability to archive all data

    Hello, Nancy! Thanks for writing in.

    I can help provide some helpful solutions for when this type of situation arises. If you find yourself needing to cancel your InventoryLab account at a time that will leave it unable to be accessed for the next time you need to do taxes, then we strongly recommend exporting any and all data from your account prior to the final day of your account's active billing cycle.

    All of our Accounting and Reporting pages can be exported as needed, with the ability to change the time frames of data to reflect specific dates or all data within. This article goes over some recommendations: What should I export before canceling my subscription?

    However if you did not get a chance to export your data before your account was fully canceled, you have a couple of options:

    1. You can re-activate your account with a full subscription plan, if you intend to use your IL account to the fullest again
    2. Or, you can reach out to us via support@inventorylab.com and let a Customer Champion know that you need access only to export your data. If approved, they will activate your account for a temporary access period so you can gather any data as needed, so you don't have to pay the full subscription fees.

    How long do you keep the data?

    My concern would be if I was audited a few years after closing the business for good. I would obliviously export data that I think would be needed but you never know.

    This is one area that I never liked about IL. Sometimes, it would be nice to be able to create backup copies of data that could be restored if needed.

    Hey again Nancy! Glad Christina was able to push you in the correct direction. 

    We store this data for a minimum of a year; after this point it is possible that the data would be purged. 

    Due to this, we always recommend exporting any and all data from your account prior to the final day of your account's active billing cycle if you decide to cancel.
