Inconsistent Box Labels Between IL and Send to Amazon
A couple of days ago I sent a three box FBA shipment. In IL, I Identified the weight and dimensions of Box 1, Box 2, and Box 3. I don't remember specifically, but let's say Box 1 was 25 lbs, Box 2 was 20 lbs, and Box 3 was 15 lbs. However, when I printed my labels through Send to Amazon, the labels printed with mismatched Box #/Weights (as in, "Box 1 of 3 - 20 lbs, Box 2 of 3 - 15 lbs, and Box 3 of 3 - 25 lbs"). So I figured matching the weights was the best move and I labeled the boxes according to correct weight listed on the label even though that meant placing mismatched label number to box number as identified in IL.
Well, those three boxes seemed to have been checked in without error. But, the same thing happened last night with a couple of boxes I'm sending in today. The labels printed out with completely reversed Box#/Weight as identified in IL.
Is this a big deal? Is there a solution, or an awareness of this happening to others?
Thanks for your attention here,
Randy

Hi there Byron!
Unfortunately, since this is an issue on Amazon's end, you will need to reach out to Seller Support for any assistance on this issue.
I wish I could offer you help, however, we are unable to do anything on our end for the box contents being out of order.

Hi there, Randy! Thanks for reaching out to us, though I am sorry you ran into this!
We have had a few users write in with the same issue and after some investigation, it has been determined that this is an issue on Amazon's end. Amazon is aware of this issue affecting some users and we are hoping they work to correct it in the near future. You can definitely reach out to them for an update!That being said, there is a workaround for this problem. As long as you are labeling the items correctly based on the weight and box contents (as opposed to the box numbers) you should be able to proceed without any issues. For example, if one of your boxes weigh 20lbs, please make sure that the label attached reflects this weight of 20lbs, even if the box number is incorrect. When Amazon checks in these boxes, they do not take into account the box numbers. As long as the weight and the box contents are correct, there will be no issues when the boxes are received.
We've also created this article to help: Box Contents Out of Order on Shipping Labels
It sounds like you got this sorted out correctly! If for some reason Amazon returns any errors for you, or this workaround doesn't work in the future, please open a support ticket with us so we can investigate further! -
Thank you Randy Gunn for posting this question and thank you Kelley for confirming the workaround and clarifying the issue as well as providing the helpful link to the article. I just had the exact same issue with exactly three boxes, just like Randy and I totally freaked all the way out when the shipping labels came back mismatched to the box numbers. What a relief to find out that this is a known issue with a workaround and that the workaround has worked well for someone else. Phew!!!

I, too, have had this same problem today and one other time previously. The first time, I just assumed I did something wrong. This time, I went through it and found that box 1 and 2 and 3 were all different between IL and AMZ. However, I did match up the labels with the weights and I also place a packing slip in every box which has helped tremendously with lost content on AMZ's part. In my case the boxes were changed to ascending weight order.
1 was 32#; 2 was 5# and 3 was 26#.
They were shifted to
box 1 5#; box 2 26# and box 3 32#. Not a scientific theory, just my experience.

I, too, have this exact problem. I waited out the switch to Send to Amazon as long as possible. As of late last week I now have to convert each shipment to send to Amazon and I ship a lot of boxes with the same weight of 48 lbs. I may have to start changing my weights to end with a .01 for box 1 and so on and so fourth because otherwise its impossible to figure out which box is which.

I've read through this thread and acknowledge IL's position that it's working with Amazon to resolve the issue. But I want to chime in as yet one more IL user that's recently run into this issue ever since the adoption of Send to Amazon workflow. In recent days we've seen two phenomena: 1) our box content info does not make it to Send to Amazon despite us configuring our batches to send the content; and 2) the issue described in this thread whereby our IL box info does not match what Amazon thinks is the box info.
For example, we had a 7 box shipment culminate in the following:
IL1 = Amazon 5
IL2 = Amazon 4
IL3 = Amazon 2
IL4 = Amazon 6
IL5 = Amazon 7
IL6 = Amazon 3
IL7 = Amazon 1
So we opened Send to Amazon, put the shipment into Edit mode, and adjusted our boxes' weights/measures to match what Amazon thinks is coming per the way it numbered the boxes. In other words, we took measurements for IL1 and updated Amazon 5 accordingly, for example. Complete PitA!
At this point it seems we cannot trust what happens once Amazon gets the info from IL, so we'll require additional time to cross-check the IL and Amazon box data.

Hey there Marc! I'm sorry you've had issues with your box content information not being received by Amazon. You can utilize this resource: Uploading Box Content Information from Stratify to Send to Amazon if you run into this again.
In regards to the boxes being swapped, we've recently been advised that shipments created after 04/26 should not experience this issue. Previously, we had a workaround for users to match the information from IL to Seller Central: Boxes Out of Order on Shipping Labels When Using Send to Amazon so I am sorry about any additional steps you had to take. If you are still experiencing the boxes being swapped for shipments created after this date, please reach back out to us via a support ticket with any screenshots and additional information you can provide and we'll be happy to help however we can. -
Hey there! Amazon advised us that the issue was fixed on the backend on April 25, so it should not have affected any shipments beginning April 26 forward. However, in order to open a new case with them if the issue is still ongoing, they will need definitive proof that the box numbers are still displaying out of order after converting. Because of this, it will be necessary to have screenshots of the box numbers out of order in Seller Central to compare that data to what was sent from IL.
Again, I am so sorry that this issue with boxes being out of order has not been resolved by Amazon as thoroughly as we would have hoped! In order to proceed, we will need definitive proof of that issue occurring in Seller Central if a new case needs to be opened with their support team. If you haven't already, open a ticket wit our team with the screenshots and we'll be happy to take a look! -
Hey there Michelle!
Unfortunately, Amazon previously advised us that the issue was resolved, however; as you can tell this was not the case.
We have since opened another ticket with our contact at Amazon to investigate. In the meantime, if the boxes are swapped, you will have to continue to use the workaround we have available.
I'm terribly sorry for this inconvenience, however; I can assure you we are doing everything we can to keep the process as simple and streamlined as possible for all of our users. As soon as we have more information we'll be sure to provide that to all of our users.
