ScoutX: Setting up Custom Research Shortcuts

Creating custom shortcuts allows you to search by ASIN on a website of your choice with the click of a button. Currently, up to two shortcuts can be set up at a time in ScoutX.

Managing Custom Research Shortcuts

To manage your Custom Research Shortcuts, follow the steps below. 

 1. Click the gear icon in the ScoutX display.

 

 

2. Scroll to the Custom Research Shortcuts section.

 

3. Click Shortcut 1 and Shortcut 2 to navigate between the two shortcut options. 

 

Adding Custom Shortcuts

To add a custom shortcut, follow the steps below. 

1.  Enter an URL to use for the button. (Any site that uses ASINs can be used for this URL). 

• To find the URL, open the desired website in a new tab in your browser and search by ASIN*

 

2. Copy the full URL(including the ASIN) 

 3. Go back to the Settings page in ScoutX

4. Paste the URL into the URL field of one of the Custom Research Shortcut tabs.

 

5. Enter a Display Name (this will appear when hovering over the shortcut button in ScoutX) and Icon Text (up to two characters)

6. Click the toggle On to be visible in ScoutX or Off to hide. 

 

 

7. Click Create Shortcut.

 

• Custom ASIN Shortcuts can be edited or removed at any time. 
• If you edit one, click Save to ensure the changes stick. 
• Click Delete to remove.
