Creating custom shortcuts allows you to search by ASIN on a website of your choice with the click of a button in both Stratify and Scoutify.
In Stratify, navigate to Settings>General and scroll to Custom Research Shortcuts. You can also click on the pencil icon on List & Prep and Scout pages to change or add them:
If you click on the pencil icon from the Scout or List page, a modal appears for each button:
The first step is to retrieve a URL to use for the button. Any site that uses ASINs can be used for this URL.
Open the desired website in a new tab and search by ASIN*
*Avoid searching for books (ISBNs) on this step
Copy the full URL (including the ASIN) and go back to the Custom ASIN Shortcuts page
Paste the URL into the URL field in the Custom ASIN modal:
Enter a Display Name (which will appear when hovering over the shortcut button in Stratify and as the Scoutify Research option), Icon Text (up to two letters), and choose if you want these links within List & Prep, Scout, Scoutify, or all three.
Click Create.
Now, when listing, scouting, or researching in Scout, you’ll be able to click your buttons to search for any ASIN on your chosen website.
You can also remove them by clicking on the small x in the upper right corner of the icon.
You can have two Custom ASIN Shortcuts, which can be Edited or Removed at any time. If you make any changes to one, click Save to ensure they stick. Or, to remove one, click Delete.
When turned on for Scoutify, your shortcuts will display immediately in your chosen research areas.
