Any shipment received at an Amazon fulfillment center without box content information is subject to fees that Amazon assesses. InventoryLab has built options to provide this information into your workflow to make your life easier!
This article details entering box content information and sending it to Amazon using feeds sent through their API.

Turning on Box Content
- When creating a new batch on the List 2.0 BETA page, toggle the Box Contents to On (knob on the right) and select On - Using Feed in the drop-down menu.
- After the Find It stage, you'll be taken to the Box It stage, where Amazon may separate your boxes into pack groups. Pack groups (simply groups in InventoryLab) include items that can be boxed together.
Assigning Items to Boxes
There are many ways to assign an item to a box. To get you started, Box 1 is automatically created.
Adding Items Manually
- To add items to a box manually, select the box you would like to add your items to and click Add to Box.
- Boxing Complete will be displayed once the entire quantity of that MSKU has been successfully assigned to boxes.
Adding a Portion of Items to a Box
- To add a portion of items to a box, use the text box next to the Add to Box button to specify how many quantities of an MSKU to assign and click Add to Box.

- The remaining quantity will be displayed next to the Add to Box button and on the left, showing as Un-Boxed.
Changing the Quantity of a Box
- To change the quantity of a box, hover over the title of an item and select the pencil icon.
- Under Change Quantity, enter the updated quantity and click Apply Quantity Change.
Moving Items to Another Box
- To move your items to another box, hover over the title of your box and select the pencil icon.
- Under the Move Quantity option, enter the quantity.
- Select the box to move it to and click Move Quantity to Box X.
Adding Multiple Items to a Box in Bulk
- To add multiple items to a box in bulk, click the checkbox icon above the item next to the search bar.

Click the checkboxes next to each item you would like to add to a box.
- Select Add to Box at the bottom of the page to assign the items to a box.
Adding More Boxes
- To create additional boxes, click + New Box.
- You can quickly create new boxes of the same ASIN using the Quick Box feature. For a step-by-step guide for Quick Box, see BETA - Using Quick Box When Providing Box Content.
Removing Items from Boxes
You can easily remove items from boxes either manually or in bulk. If needed, you can also delete a box entirely!
Removing Items Manually
- To remove items manually, click the X underneath the item, or next to the units displayed in the box.
Removing Items in Bulk
- To remove items in bulk, click the checkbox towards the top of the page.

Click the boxes next to the items you would like to remove in bulk.
- Select Unbox.
Deleting a Box
- To delete a box, click the checkbox next to + New Box.

Check the boxes you would like to remove.
- Select Delete.
Adding Box Weight & Dimensions
To move forward with shipment creation, you must add weight and dimensions to your boxes. You can add weight and dimensions to each box as you pack or in bulk!
- To add Dimensions and Weight for your box, click Add Dimensions/ Weight next to the box name.
- Enter the Length, Width, Height, and Weight of your box, then click Save Dimensions.

- If you miss some dimensions or prefer to add them all at once, when you click Next: Ship It to move on to the next area, you'll have the option to provide weight & dimensions for any boxes missed.
Copying Boxes
If you need to create multiple boxes with the same items, copying or duplicating boxes may save you some time!
Copy Box
Copy Box allows you to create multiple copies of one box.
- To copy a box, click the kebab in the box heading and click Copy Box.
- A modal will appear with the maximum number of copies you can make of the box. Change the quantity if needed, or just click OK.
Duplicate Boxes
Duplicating boxes allows you to copy multiple boxes at a time.
- To duplicate a box, click the checkbox next to + New Box.

Click the checkboxes next to the boxes you want to duplicate.
- Select Duplicate.
Once boxing is complete, you can move on to the Ship It stage.
