By default, Amazon has a setting turned On in a seller's account to use the Manufacturer's Barcode for their items. This is also known as Stickerless Commingling or Virtual Tracking.
How Does Commingling Work with InventoryLab?
How Does Commingling Work with InventoryLab?
With this setting, items that are eligible will not need to be labeled by the seller before shipping them to Amazon and appear as NO_LABEL in Stratify when adding them to a batch. However, if they are not eligible, they need to be labeled by the seller and will appear as SELLER_LABEL.
For details on how commingled items are tracked by Amazon and product eligibility, please check out Amazon's article on this topic- Using FBA virtual tracking
When listing through a third-party service such as InventoryLab, Amazon splits the shipments for any items that have different label types. They will not allow you to combine NO_LABEL, AMAZON_LABEL, and SELLER_LABEL into the same shipment in Stratify, even if they are routed to the same warehouse.
If you would like to combine NO_LABEL and SELLER_LABEL items into one shipment, this can be done by uploading a shipping plan to Seller Central instead of creating the FBA shipments in Stratify. For these steps, please see- Combining Commingled and Seller Labeled Inventory
If you would prefer to label all of your items going forward, you can turn Off the Manufacturer barcode setting in Seller Central by following the steps below.
How To Turn Off Commingling
Navigate to Seller Central > Settings > Fulfillment by Amazon
Scroll down to FBA Product Barcode Preference and click the Edit button to the far right
Select Amazon barcode and click Update
If your setting in Seller Central is Manufacturer barcode when you add your first item to a batch, you will also be notified and prompted to change the setting if necessary:
Note: Any changes you make to your FBA Product Barcode Preference in Seller Central will immediately take effect in the same batch in Stratify as you continue to add items.
If an item has previously been listed with the commingling setting turned on in your Seller account, but you are now wanting to label the item, you will need to use a new MSKU when adding it to a batch. This is because Amazon does not allow you to change the label type for an MSKU after creation. Once an MSKU has been listed as commingled, it will always be commingled.
