Most of the time, selecting a workflow comes down to when you want to pack your boxes.
- In a PRIVATE workflow, you would pack the boxes when you are completely finished scanning all of your items and are ready to finish the batch and start the shipping process. InventoryLab does provide *tentative* shipping destinations that you can see as you are listing to try and pre-sort, though we do not have any control over what Amazon decides as the final fulfillment centers. This information can vary really, especially in high-volume seasons such as Q4.
This happens because as you are scanning, Amazon is only getting a portion of the product information through the feeds. They don't receive the full information until you are finished scanning your items and ask to create a shipment plan, but you usually will have fewer fulfillment centers assigned to ship to.
- In a LIVE workflow, you would pack as you are scanning. Your items will be assigned to a final fulfillment center as you go along.
This happens because we are sending the full product feed information to Amazon. However, people tend to get more fulfillment centers assigned.
Your preference as to when you would like to pack your items will probably be your deciding factor.
The best part is - if you don't like the workflow you chose initially, you can always close the batch and start again using the other workflow ;)
