InventoryLab does not control the destinations for your shipments or the number of shipments created. This information is provided to us through the Amazon API (the system we use to communicate with Amazon) and is based on your settings in Seller Central.
During the shipment creation process, Amazon will determine the distribution of your inventory among their warehouses. In order to comply with their policies, InventoryLab can not manipulate or instruct ways to limit shipment splits beyond the available options Seller Central.
Within your FBA account settings in Seller Central, you can choose from the following Inbound Settings options:
-
Amazon-optimized shipment splits: This option allows Amazon to distribute your inventory to multiple warehouses. While you will see the most shipment splits with this compared to the other options, this approach does not accrue Inventory Placement fees.
-
Partial shipment splits: With this option, Amazon will distribute your inventory to a reduced number of destinations (generally 2 or 3 splits) for a per-item fee per shipment. You must select your inbound region: East, Central, or West.
- Minimal shipment splits: This option involves Amazon distributing inventory to a minimal number of locations (generally 1 split) after which they will redistribute it to their other warehouses for an extra per-item fee per shipment. You must select your inbound region: East, Central, or West.
InventoryLab will automatically pick up these settings based on what you set in Seller Central. For information on how Amazon distributes inventory and calculates placement fees, please reference the following link- 2024 FBA inbound placement service fee
You can also use the Estimated Placement Fees Calculator in InventoryLab to help preview the fees you'll be charged for shipping items as you add them to your batches. For more information, please see- Estimated Placement Fees
