Each time you create a new batch in Stratify, you will be required to choose who will apply the label to the item(s) you want to sell; you or Amazon. Together with your label settings in Seller Central, setting the correct label preference for your batches will help streamline your workflow.
- I will label all my items
- FBA should label my items and reject items that cannot be labeled
- FBA should label my items, however, I will label items as necessary

Stratify Label Preferences
When you create a new batch in Stratify, the window in the figure below will be displayed:
Make your selection by clicking on the Labeling Preference dropdown referenced in the figure below:
The dropdown menu will show the following options:
I will label all my items
This is the default selection. With this option, you will be responsible for labeling your items before sending them to Amazon.
If you have Stickerless, Commingled Inventory enabled in Seller Central, eligible items will be added to your batches as NO_LABEL for the label type. Items that are not eligible will be added as SELLER_LABEL, which you will need to label yourself.
FBA should label my items and reject items that cannot be labeled
Selecting this option means that Amazon will label your items. With this setting, if an item is not eligible to be labeled by Amazon or be Commingled, Stratify will not allow you to add it to the batch at all.
Items that are added to your batch that Amazon will label will show as AMAZON_LABEL for the label type. Items that are not eligible to be labeled by Amazon will be added Commingled inventory (NO_LABEL) or will become stranded or will be returned to you. As an example, items like Food and Beauty cannot be Commingled. Check with Seller Central if you are unsure. Only they can make the determination and give you an answer.
FBA should label my items, however, I will label items as necessary
Selecting this option means that Amazon will label your items. With this setting, you are required to label any items that are not eligible to be labeled by Amazon.
For example, let’s say you are sending a bundle with no barcode, you would need to label the bundle because Amazon will not label an item without a barcode. On that same note, if you have an item that does not have a “scannable” barcode, you will need to label it before shipping it to Amazon.
So, in summary, with this option, Amazon will open your boxes when shipments are received and label only the items that were not already labeled by you. If an item doesn't qualify for Commingling (NO_LABEL) and FBA labels it, it will be labeled for a fee at Amazon. If an item is not eligible to be labeled by Amazon or be Commingled, you will be responsible for labeling it.
Seller Central Label Preferences
Within your Seller Central account settings, you can choose between using Manufacturer Barcodes or Amazon Barcodes to track items once they arrive at the FBA warehouses. You also have the option to have Amazon label your items for you for a per-unit fee.
Manufacturer Barcode (NO_LABEL)
By default, Amazon has new sellers set to Commingle their items, also known as Manufacturer Barcode or Virtual Tracking. This option uses an item's UPC, EAN, JAN, or ISBN for tracking purposes. This means in Stratify, your label type will show as NO_LABEL and no label will print out for items that are eligible for this feature.
If your settings in Seller Central are NO_LABEL, when you add your first item to a batch, you will be notified and prompted to change the setting if necessary.
Note: If an item has previously been listed with the Commingling setting turned on in your Seller account, but you are now wanting to label the item, you will need to use a new MSKU when adding it to a batch. This is because Amazon does not allow you to change the label type for an MSKU after creation. Once an MSKU has been listed as commingled, it will always be commingled.
