The Inventory Valuation Report takes the total On Hand (which includes the fulfillable, unfulfillable, and reserved quantities) and Inbound (which includes Inbound Receiving and Inbound Shipping) quantities into account, as well as your Unlisted Inventory items.
These figures are used to calculate the Average Cost Per Unit, as well as the Total Cost Per Unit for any given day.

! This report cannot be updated retroactively. In order to account for all Buy Costs within this report, you must have them entered into your Inventory>FBA/Merchant areas prior to the date you want to pull the report for. ie: You cannot enter your Buy Costs into Inventory on 01/01/2018 and have them show for your 12/31/2017 report.
However, we do have a couple of articles that can assist you in figuring out your inventory valuation if:
- You didn't enter your buy costs as of the end of the year, or
- You were not a subscriber as of the end of the year and the report isn't showing available to you for year end.

Click on Reports and select Inventory Valuation from the dropdown menu
The default day will be today, however, you can view your inventory values for a past date as well by clicking on the date field and selecting a past date from the calendar. Then, click View
You can also search the report by Title, MSKU, or by scanning the UPC.
This report is designed to be a snapshot in time. Meaning, it cannot be updated retroactively.
For example, if you wanted to have an accurate value provided for December 31st, you will want to have all of your Cost/Unit numbers in your Inventory by December 30th.
At the bottom graph these totals are separated by Merchant Fulfilled, Amazon Fulfilled and Unlisted Inventory. It also gives the totals for the Inbound Quantity Amazon is reporting to us (shown as Inbound at the bottom of the page).
Then, it adds the 4 totals (Merchant Fulfilled, Unlisted Inventory, Amazon Fulfilled, and Inbound) together to get the Total in the bottom graph. This data is captured in a snapshot report once each day to form the Inventory Valuation Report.
